Ingredients
- 38 g (¾ large) Eggs, beaten
- 90 g (¾ cup) Bread Crumbs, soft, from white bread
- 120 g (½ cup) Tomato Juice
- 60 g (½ cup) Parsley, chopped
- 1 g (1½ tsp) Oregano (dried)
- 4 g (1 tsp) Granulated Sugar
- 6 g (1 tsp) Table Salt
- 2 g (1 tsp) Black Pepper (ground)
- 3 g (1) Garlic Cloves, small, minced
- 454 g (3¼ cups) Ground Beef, lean
- 120 g (1 count) Ham, thinly sliced
- 85 g (¼ cup) Mozzarella Cheese, shredded (about 1/2 cup)
Instructions
- 1In a large bowl combine beaten eggs, bread crumbs, tomato juice, parsley, oregano, sugar, salt, pepper and minced garlic.
- 2Add ground beef and mix until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- 3On a sheet of floured waxed paper pat the meat mixture into a 12×10-inch rectangle.
- 4Arrange the slice of ham diagonally across the meat rectangle.
- 5Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella evenly over the ham.
- 6Starting at a short end, carefully roll up the meat, pressing to seal and tucking in the edges and ends.
- 7Place the roll seam-side down in a 13×9×2-inch baking pan.
- 8Bake in a 350°F oven for 1 hour, turning the pan once during baking.
- 9Return the pan to the oven for 5 minutes or until the cheese melts.
- 10Note: The center of the meat roll may remain slightly pink due to the ham.
- 11Slice and serve.
